FAQs on eMO
1. What is eMO?
eMO is a web based rapid money transfer service offered by India Post between two individuals within India.
2. How fast is the money transfer?
3. How much money can be sent through eMO?
A minimum of Rs.1/- and a maximum of Rs. 5000./- can be sent through eMO.
4. Is the money paid in cash?
Receiver can receive the payment in cash upto Rs. 5000/-.
5. How is money sent through eMO?
Money
can be sent from any eMO center. A simple “To Remit Payment” form is to
be filled up and submitted along with the remittance amount and
commission at the eMO counter. A printed receipt is issued to the
remitter. If the money is being sent through the e Post Office, then the
remitter is to go online, register the account and fill in the online
booking form. After the online booking form is completed the customer
should press submit and this will take him then to the payment gateway
site where online payment will be processed. Thereafter the receipt will
be generated and the reference number on the receipt can be used for
further correspondence if required.
6. How does the payee collect money?
The payee can receive money at home. Therefore Pin code of the delivery address is essential.
7. What can be presented as proof of identity by the remittee?
The payee can prove his /her identity by presenting any of the following photo-identity documents:
(a) Voter’s I-Card
(b) PAN Card
(c) Ration Card with photo of receiver
(d) Post Office Identity Card
(e) Driving License
(f) Passport
(g) Approved/Recognized Central Government/ State Government/ PSU / Office / College / University ID Card
8. Is eMO expensive?
eMO tariff has been kept same as that of ordinary MO though electronic transmission has been introduced..

Revision of Instant Money Order tariff w.e.f 22/12/2012
Postal directorate has revised the Instant Money Order Tariff with
effect from 22.12.2012 vide Letter No.95-02/2012-FS dated 19th December,
2012.The new tariff operates on a three slab plan. The tarrif at
the highest remittance end has been reduced from Rs. 330/- to Rs.
120/-. The revision will come into effect since 22.12.2012.
The revised Tariff is as follows :

NON REFLECTION OF EMOS RECEIVED IN DET
Problem: It is to report that after the installation of new version of Meghdoot software, eMOs received today (Sl no.29 of Data extracted value) are not getting extracted in DET But the eMOs issued for delivery,brought back,returned to sender and received missent are captured in the DET.
Solution: Download
Please run attached scripts. Then do postman day-end today and run DET for today. Then check DET dashboard whether data appear correctly.
If it is correct,then remove old project arrow files for the dates on which issue occurred from TXD folder. Then do postman day-end for those dates and run DET for those dates again. The issue will get resolved.

EMO DATABASE - HOW TO REPAIR CONSISTENCY ERROR IN DB
Problem in Printing eMO (Database Corrupted)

Attempt to fetch logical page in database eMO belongs to object eMO Inward not to object eMO Offices
While checking the databases.
The database is not in suspect state. While checking the Check db it
shows There are some consistency errors.. Then I tried to repair the
database with query. This worked for me
The query for corrupted database(Not for Suspected database) with minimum data loss is given below
DBCC checkdb(‘yourDBname’)
ALTER DATABASE yourDBname SET SINGLE_USER WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE
DBCC CheckDB (‘yourDBname’, REPAIR_ALLOW_DATA_LOSS)
ALTER DATABASE yourDBname SET MULTI_USER

While reporting the matter with PTC Mysore They give a solution. While
running the exl file It completed with on error. While consulting the
matter with PTC they replied thatIt can occur to some reasons like,
network issue and excess size of log files. Please check for network
connectivity. if everything is fine please try to shrink the database
and check. While clearing the log file and restarting the server the
query worked.

Steps for Updating Paid Date of eMO through Disaster Recovery Option
In Some Sub offices Postmasters found very difficult in updating the paid date of eMO. The Easy method of updating the paid date of eMO through disaster recovery module is shown below.
Steps for Updating Paid Date of eMO The Supervisor has to request for disaster recovery data through Transactions > Disaster
Recovery > Disaster request data Menu Option. There he has to select the pincode for which
disaster data is required and enter remarks.
Once eMO Communication is run, disaster request will be sent to central server and the data
for disaster recovery will be received in the next or subsequent calls.
Once the data for disaster recovery is received from central server, the Operator has to go to
DataEntry >Disaster recovery > Disaster paid entry option. There he has to select the office for
which disaster paid entry is to be done. Select PNR number and enter the paid particulars.
Thereafter, the supervisor has to perform disaster paid verification in respect of disaster paid
entries done by the operator through Transactions > Disaster Recovery > Disaster paid
verification option.
After this when eMO Communication is run, disaster paid entries data will be transmitted to
Server and paid data will be updated.

eMO Printing Solution for HP Laserjet 1160 Printer
In printing eMO through HP Laserjet 1160 Printer, sometimes we may face the need of pressing green switch for printing every eMO.
To solve this problem, delete existing HPLaserjet 1160 Printer and Install HPLaserjet1100(MS) driver using Add Printer Wizard.

Meghdoot 7.0 - eMO Client Update

Replace existing emo client exe available in emo client installation path with that of emoclient available at Download Run emo client and then check. Apply for request resend through divisional administrator web login once again in respect of concerned PO to receive the non received emos again.
