After
the grand launch of mobile ticketing site, IRCTC have decided to launch
a mobile app to make rail ticket booking easier through mobile
ticketing. According to the IRCTC, the app is probably to be launched
within a month and it will be available across the major mobile
operating systems like, iOS, Android, Symbian etc.
The
mobile app of IRCTC will enable users to access all the features
available on website of the IRCTC, and the people will be able to book
ticket using the IRCTC mobile app and for payment they can use their
credit card, debit card or any cash cards.
There
are already some app which enables mobile ticketing like, Paymate,
Ngpay and Atom. These apps are used currently to book railway tickets
through mobile and these apps are available across all the platforms.
These apps accept payments through credit cards, debit cards or mobile
cash cards accounts maintained by the service provider.
Recently,
Indian Railway also allowed passengers the option to carry their
railway ticket in the phone itself instead of having to print e-ticket.
Passengers will, however, still need to carry a valid identity proof.
Now IRCTC is also accepting ‘ADHAAR’ card as an identification proof.
How to book railway ticket from IRCTC Mobile Site?
IRCTC
recently launched mobile site to let the traveler freedom of booking
their railway ticket through mobile phone available GPRS enabled handset
called, Mobile Ticketing. Here are the steps to book railway ticket
from IRCTC Mobile Site:
1. Goto Website : https://www.irctc.co.in/mobile
2. Login to the website with your existing IRCTC user id and password
3. Fill details on, “Plan My Travel” section.
4. Select the train and click on continue booking.
5. Use existing passenger list on “Add Passengers”.
6. You
will see booking details, if everything is OK, confirm booking details
and pay through credit or debit card to get your ticket booked.
Now
this facility have made the passengers to book their railway tickets
conveniently via phone now just sit back and wait for the new surprise
from IRCTC , Mobile App for railway ticket booking.
