How To Set Password in Broad Band Modem

Here is the step by step method to set password in modem..Setting password in the modem is a must to connect broad band modem to a hub or a switch



Before we proceed, first we need to ensure that we are connecting the Modem to the Phone line and computer.
1. Turn ON the Modem. You can find the Power button is at the rear of the Modem. Once the Modem is Turned ON, the Power Button LED at the front will glow.
2. Connect the Phone Line cable to the LINE port at the rear of the Modem.
3. Connect Modem to the Computer. Connect a LAN cable (Network cable/RJ45) from Modem to the LAN port (Network Port) of your computer.
4. Once all connection is proper, we can proceed to next step.


Configure Modem to enable Internet through LAN and Wi-Fi (WLAN):


Follow below said step by step procedure to configure the BSNL WA3002G4 broadband modem to access Internet from your Desktop and from Laptop (via Wi-fi) at the same time.

1. Open Internet Explorer, type (Or type 192.168.1.1) and press the Enter key on the keyboard.
2. Now a popup screen asks you to enter ID and password to configure your Siemens SL2_141 broadband modem as shown below.



3. Enter below said User name and Password. (Use the default factory user name and password) and click OK.
User name: admin
Password: admin
4. Once you login, you will be at the Device Info page as shown below

5. Click on Advanced Setup link on left pane of the window as shown below


6. Select all the boxes under the Remove column and click on Remove button to remove all factory settings. Check the below said screenshot to understand better.

7. Once you click remove button, all the factory values will be removed from the modem. Now the screen will look the one provided below.

8. Please Refresh the page by pressing the F5 button on the keyboard. The new window will look the one provided below.

9. Click on Quick Setup on the left pane of the window. You will be at Quick Setup page
10. Then set VPI and VCI values as shown below.
VPI = 0
VCI = 35

11. Then click on Next button.  You will be at Connection Type page.
12. Select PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE), also select Encapsulation Mode = LLC/SNAP- BRIDGINGas shown below. Then click on Next button.


13. On the next page, enter below said details.
PPP Username: Username provided by BSNL.
PPP Password:
 password provided by BSNL (default password is password)
PPPoE Service Name:
 Leave this BLANK (though I used my name SiRu or dataone)
Authentication Mode:
 AUTO

14. You can also select “Enable “Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports” option.
15. Then click on Next button.
16. Now you will be at Network Address Translation Settings page.
17. Change the below said settings:
Enable NAT = Yes
Enable Firewall = Yes
Enable IGMP Multicast = Yes
Enable WAN Service = Yes
Service Name = pppoe_0_35_1 or similar name (Do not change it)
18. Click on Next button. Now you will be at Device Setup page as shown below.
19. In this window, select Enable DHCP Server and click Next button


20. Now you will be at Wireless – Setup page.
21. Select Enable Wireless, also enter a name for your Wireless (SSID). (Note: I used “SiRu Wi-Fi” as an example)
22. Then click on Next button

23, Now you will be at WAN Setup – Summary page. Click on Save/Reboot button to reboot you modem.
24. It may take 1-2 minutes for the changes to take affect. Close the Internet Explorer browser window now.

25. Congratulations. You have successfully configured both Ethernet and Wireless Internet on BSNL  Broadband ADSL Modem.

Subject: Implementation of Rotational Transfer Policy in respect of officers of the Central Secretariat Service (CSS) in all grades.


The Rotational Transfer Policy of CSS officers prescribes a fixed tenure of posting for an officer of the Central Secretariat Service in a particular Ministry/Department. One of the objectives of the Rotational Transfer Policy is gaining of exposure by the officers to different challenging situations in varied Ministries / Departments which will not only help them individually to progress in their career but result in the betterment of the administrative system as a whole.

2. The DOP&T is planning to effect transfers of CSS officers in all grades, who are due for transfer as on 1.1.2012, under the Rotational Transfer Policy during the year till 31st December, 2012 in a phased manner as per the following schedule:

Civil Services (Main) Exam, 2011 Result Announced

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) have announced the result of Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2011 and Roll Numbers of the candidates who have qualified for Personality Test for selection to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and other Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’). Personality Tests of these candidates will commence from 19th March, 2012.Personality Tests will be held at UPSC. The date and time of Personality Test is being intimated to the qualified candidates individually. The date and time of Personality Tests of candidates being called for Personality Test from 19th March, 2012 will be displayed on the Commission’s Website athttp://www.upsc.gov.in. The candidates who do not receive any communication regarding their Personality Test, should immediately contact the office of the Commission through letter or on Phone, Nos. 011-23385271, 011-23381125, 011-23098543 or Fax Nos. 011-23387310, 011-23384472.

No request for change in the date and time of the Personality Test intimated to the candidates will be entertained. The candidates are advised to notify change(s) in their address, if any, to the Commission immediately through letter or Fax at Telephone numbers indicated above.

Candidature of these candidates is provisional subject to their being found eligible in all respects. The candidates will be required to produce the original certificates in support of their claims pertaining to age, educational qualifications, community, physical handicap and other documents such as Questionnaire, Attestation Form, TA form, etc. at the time of their Personality Test. The formats of SC/ST/OBC/PH certificates and Questionnaire, Attestation Form and TA form can be downloaded from the website of the Commission. They are, therefore advised to keep the said documents ready with them.

Result is available on PIB website i.e www.pib.nic.in and also on the U.P.S.C. website i.e.www.upsc.gov.in.

The mark-sheets of candidates who have not qualified, will be put on the Commission’s Website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result (after conducting Personality Test) and will remain available on the Website for a period of 60 days.

Any complaint on the services rendered and concerning behavior of employees of the Department of Posts may be taken up with the Postmaster / In-charge of the Post Office where the transaction has taken place or The Post Master General/ Senior Superintendent / Superintendent of Post Offices in whose jurisdiction the Post Office concerned falls.
