Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for filling the Posts of Multi Tasking Staff for the year 2011


The Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for filling the posts of Multi Tasking Staff  for the year 2011 will be held on 28.04.2013. The schedule is as follows:

The examination will be restricted to Gramin Dak Sewaks  for filling up of the vacancies  under 25% direct recruitment quota( limited to GDS)  for the year 2011 .  The examination will be conducted at all the three Regional Head quarters. 

Syllabus & Qualifying standards for the examination:
Candidates shall be subjected to an Aptitude Test of the level of 10th class/matriculation covering the following subjects /topics.

25 marks – 25 questions on General Knowledge– Multiple Choice Questions
Part B
25 marks – 25 questions of Mathematics-Multiple choice Questions
Part C (Two segments)
25 Marks – English language-Objective Type / Multiple Choice Questions
25 Marks – Regional language – Objective Type / Multiple Choice Questions.
Duration of EXAM
90 Minutes
Qualifying Marks
  1. Parts A and B – Minimum 10 marks for OC, 8 marks for SC/ST and 9 marks for OBC candidates in each part
  1. Part C (Two Segments) – Minimum 10 marks for OC, 8 marks for SC/ST and 9 marks for OBC  candidates in each segment
  1. 40% marks for OC, 33 marks for SC/ST and 37 marks for OBC candidates in aggregate.
  Method of Recruitment:
25% by direct recruitment on the basis of Limited Departmental Competitive Examination restricted to the Gramin Dak Sevaks of the Division or Unit .
              Eligibility:
The Gramin Dak Sevaks should be in service as on 1st day of January 2011 to make them eligible to take part in the Limited Departmental Competitive examination for filling up the posts of Multi Tasking Staff for the year 2011.  The age limit for  Gramin Dak Sevaks shall be 50 years as on the first day of January of the year of vacancy (ies).  Relaxable for those belonging to Scheduled Caste/Schedules Tribes up to five years and for those belonging to other Backward classes up to three years in accordance with the instructions issued by the Government of India.
        EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
 
No educational qualification is prescribed for Gramin Dak Sevaks.    If the Gramin Dak Sevak selected for appointment by direct recruitment is non matriculate he shall be given training before he is appointed. 
        LAST DATE OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION:
The last date for receipt of application by the Divisional Head is 08.04.2013.    
  GDS belonging to reserved categories should attach copy of the latest community/caste certificate for being considered against reserved categories.  In the case of OBC candidates creamy layer certificate should be attached.
    The application should be submitted by the candidates as per the prescribed proforma attached to this notification.   Examination fee of Rs.5/- may be credited at any post office and the post office receipt in original should be attached along with the application form.
     GDS, who are on deputation to APS, will be considered for the examination against the vacancies of the division from which they have proceeded on deputation.  The eligibility criteria will be similar to that of GDS working in Civil side.
     As per the instructions contained in Directorate letter No. Misc/2/95/DE dated 7/7/97 candidates taking the departmental examination conducted by the Dept. of posts on or after 1/8/97, shall submit their application to the prescribed authority along with two copies of their identical passport size photographs.  The Divisional Supdts may please ensure that this condition is satisfied while calling for applications and scrutiny of the same. 
   
    The Divisional Superintendents will issue hall permit after affixing the Photographs of the candidates on it.
    The candidature of the applicants will be decided by the Divisional Supdts.  As regards provisional admission if any, the instructions issued from time to time will be followed.
       Vacancy position approved for the examination will be issued separately.

Note:- The examination will be held with the aid of books approved by the department. All the questions will be objective type with four options. Eligibility Criteria:- All Postal Assistants who have completed one year’s service on 30th June or 31st December of the year in which test is conducted shall be eligible to appear. Test will be conducted twice in a calendar year i.e in the month of February and August. Candidates who have completed one year’s service as on 31st December shall be eligible for appearing in the test to be held in February and those who have completed one year’s service as on 30th June shall be eligible for appearing in the test to be held in August. There will be no restriction on number of times a candidate can appear.
