CHENNAI: The postmaster general of Chennai city region has appealed to
the public not to pay cash to postal employees as a tip for receiving
services from the department.
This practice is reportedly common among senior citizens when they receive their old age pension money orders.
"Please refrain from paying baksheesh. If postal department employees
adopt a practice of deducting some money and then paying you, do not
accept," said a release issued by postmaster General (Chennai City
region) Mervin Alexander.
