The Department of Posts (DOP) has emerged as one of the most successful Government departments that have reached the masses at the grassroots level. The corporate vision- ‘INDIA POST” is a socially committed, technology driven, entrepreneurially managed and forward looking organization is truly reflected in the logo. Its mission is “to provide high quality mail, parcel and related services in India and throughout the world; to be recognized as an efficient and excellent organization exceeding the expectations of the customers, employees and the society.


            A Logo (monogram) is a picture language, graphic pattern common throughout the world. In limited space it reflects the legacy, vision & mission, values goals, culture, heritages and commitments. With adoption of information technology and technological advancements, a peep into the historical changing face of India Post left an interesting story to be told through the Logo/monogram .India post held Logo Identity Revamp Day on 23rd September 2008 throughout the country.

            For a long time the graphic representation and motto in Sanskrit remained unchanged .Pre-revised corporate logo with flying birds, and bi-lingual inscriptions “bhartiya Dak” and “INDIA POST” Iin capital letters of India Post was designed in the year 1995 in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)Mumbai. Red colour embodies passion, power and commitment .The new logo “Bhartiya Post” and “INDIA POST” in small letters designed by M/S Ogilvy & Mather for the DOP was launched on 23 September 2008 on all India basis .The new logo has a rectangle in envelope shape in deep red colour with an image of a bird/wings coming out in a very special yellow colour.
